What is Adult Day Care?
By: Lisa Chubb, MSN, RN, WCC, RAC-CT, CMAC, CRN-C
The adult day setting is a center where adults with any disability or cognition decline can go during the day that is safe, fun, and homelike. This allows for the caregiver of a Guest to run errands or get some much needed rest. In the past these centers have focused on only one area of care such as socialization, medical services, or Alzheimer’s Dementia care. Here are Independent Adult Day Care Centers, we are able to accomplish the scope of all three.
We offer a wide variety of activities that are personalized to each Guest’s likes and normal routines. We offer a daily routine that is much like the one each Guest will have at home. The Namaste room is for quiet sitting with sensory stimulation to soothe any soul. The outings during the warmer weather will encompass nature walks, gardening, fishing, cooking out, and many others. When it comes to ensuring our Guest’s dreams come true, we are here to help you live that dream.
Our medical services are top notch. There is an RN and LPN on staff at each center to allow for better health care coordination and management. With the coordinated health care options, each plan can be customized to each Guest’s wants and needs. We want to ensure that each Guest and care giver can rest easy knowing that the medical staff at Independent Adult Day Care Centers is your advocate with your needs in mind.
With our homelike environment we are able to provide a safe and dementia friendly place. We look forward to preparing a healthy organic meal each day. Our dietitian only has the healthiest menu options in mind, however, she also knows that there is time for indulgence as well.
Our goal is to keep our Guests in the community. We want to keep our Guests free from hospital settings and in the most optimal health possible. Our team is always evaluating for a decline to ensure that proper care is taken right away.
